Iran arrests 40 people over Gold markets manipulation

TEHRAN(BullionStreet): Sanctions hit Iran arrested 40 persons on charges of manipulating the country's foreign exchange and gold markets.

Iranian officials had previously said that the arrested individuals had been exacerbating the situation in the country's foreign exchange and gold markets through carrying out illegal activities.
In recent months, Iran's rial has steeply fallen against hard currencies in open-market trade, and the price of gold coins has sharply risen in the country's markets
