Peru 2013 Gold output falls 6.23%, Silver up 5.56%

In December alone, the country produced 351997 kg of silver, advanced by 15.19% compared to 305575 kg in the same month last year and up 5.97% from 332166 kg a month earlier.

LIMA (BullionStreet): Gold production in Peru declined by 6.23% to 151486 kilograms in 2013 compared to 161544 kg a year earlier, according to the data released by the Mines and Energy Ministry on Wednesday.

The country's December gold production dropped by 5.85% to 12099 kg from the production of 12851 kg in the same month a year earlier and down slightly by 0.18% from November 2013.

Meanwhile, Peru's silver production recorded a 5.56% rise in 2013 with 3674283 kg of silver. The production of silver was 3480857 kg in 2012.
