Turkey Gold, Silver imports fall in November

Total gold imports from January to November were at 43.98 tons, down significantly from 119.32 tons recorded for the corresponding period last year.

ANKARA (Bullion Street): Turkey's gold imports fell sharply to 2.63 tons in November as compared to 47.13 tons recorded for the same month last year, according to latest data released by Borsa Istanbul, the exchange operator in Turkey.

Gold imports were up 59.17% last month when compared to the import of 1.65 tons in October.

Total gold imports from January to November were at 43.98 tons, down significantly from 119.32 tons recorded for the corresponding period last year.

Turkey's silver imports also declined in November to 2.83 tons, fell sharply by 92% from 35.54 in November last year and down 78.09% month-on-month.

Although, the country's total silver imports have surged to their highest on record so far this year. Turkey imported 259.35 tons of silver in the first eleven months of the year as against 227.36 tons for the full year 2014.
